Like any no-bake dessert, waiting for it to chill is the hardest part. But four hours is not that long, and there should be some extra Oreos to munch on while waiting.
Another reason I love this recipe is how pretty this pie is. With the whipped cream rosettes and chocolate syrup drizzled on top of the chunks of cookies, this pie can be served instead of a cake at a party.

- Food processor – To crush the cookies.
- Pie pan – I use a 9-inch pie pan.

Ingredients
For the crust:
- Oreos – I use 30 regular-sized Oreo cookies with the filling.
- Unsalted butter – Melted to hold the crust together.
For the filling:
- Oreos – 20 regular-sized Oreos, roughly chopped. I used the classic Oreos, but any flavor would work.
- Cream cheese – Block-style, still cold but softened, make sure you use full-fat cream cheese.
- Cool Whip – Or try my easy recipe for homemade whipped cream.
- Chocolate syrup – Any brand of syrup will work.
- Powdered sugar – I use powdered sugar because it dissolves easily since it is a no-bake pie.
- Vanilla extract – Make sure it is 100% pure vanilla, not vanilla flavoring.
For the toppings:
- Chopped Oreos – Regular Oreos, chopped for decoration.
- Whipped cream – Store-bought or homemade for decorating.
- Chocolate syrup – To drizzle on top.
How to make No-bake Oreo pie from scratch?

- Chill: After, put the crust in the refrigerator to chill.Â
- Make the filling: Meanwhile, mix the sugar and cream cheese with an electric mixer in a large bowl until it is fluffy.Â

Expert tip
What kind of Oreos to use
Because Oreos come in so many different varieties, it is nice to be able to choose different flavors, textures, and fillings. However, they also have cookies made for those with dietary restrictions like sugar and gluten allergies. What’s more, regular Oreos have always been dairy-free and vegan as well as nut-free. So, that means anyone can enjoy an Oreo Cookie or, with a few alterations, this Oreo pie.
In addition, the company offers a Double Stuffed version with twice the amount of crème filling, the Mega Stuffed Oreo with almost three times the filling, and Oreo Thins—the thinner version of the cookie. There are also Oreo Minis, which are bite-sized cookies, and a variety of other Oreo treats like Oreo Cakesters, Oreo Brownies, and Oreo Fudge Cremes. I would not suggest using the Oreo Thins or the other treats because of their texture.
Now, as far as the other flavors, I say anything goes. This famous cookie has been made in over 120 flavors so far, with new ones every few months. Some of the ones I have tried are peanut butter, mint, golden, strawberry, chocolate crème, and dark chocolate. But they have some new ones like java chip, black & white, toffee crunch, caramel coconut, and dirt cake that also deserve a mention.
Recipe variations and add-ins:
- Make it nutty: Stir in some chopped nuts to your pie to get some crunch in every bite.
- Chocolate: Add chocolate chips or M&M’s to the mix.Â
- Decorate: Make it more festive for a party or celebration with rainbow sprinkles or other candy toppings.
- Extra creamy: For extra flavor and creaminess, add a box of vanilla or chocolate instant pudding to the mix.
- More stuff: Another way to make this pie creamier is to use Double Stuf or Mega Stuf cookies.
- Sugar-free: Trying to cut sugar? Use sugar-free Oreos and powdered Splenda.
- Other crust: To make the filling stand out more, use a graham cracker crust.
- Boozy: For a boozy twist, add about a half of a cup of Bailey’s to the filling.Â
How to serve:
- To serve the no-bake Oreo cream pie, top it with whipped topping rosettes on the sides and chopped crunchy Oreos in the middle. Then drizzle it with chocolate syrup.
- As an alternative, add white chocolate shavings on top of the pie.
- Also, sprinkle nuts or coconut on top.Â
- Serve with a bowl of 5-minute chocolate Oreo pudding on the side. It is so creamy and easy to make.
- Instead of pudding, this delectable pie would also go great with a scoop of chocolate ice cream.
- When serving this pie at a family get-together, these Bailey’s s’mores milkshakes are the perfect drink for the adults.
- This is the perfect refreshing dessert to make for a barbecue summer party, after some burgers or ribs on the grill.
Frequently asked questions
How many Oreos make two cups of crumbs?
It will take 25 regular Oreos to make two cups of crumbs. However, my recipe calls for 30 regular Oreo cookies for the crust, 20 regular Oreo cookies for the filling, and more cookies for the topping. Each standard 14-ounce Oreos package has 36 cookies, a large family pack has 48 cookies, and the jumbo party size has 60 cookies. I usually get two family packs because I like to have extra.
How do I keep my Oreo crust from falling apart?
First, make sure the butter-to-cookie ratio is correct. Having too much butter will make the crust loose and not enough butter will make it crumbly. Also, be sure to leave the filling in the cookies. That extra creaminess helps the crust stick together. Remember that the crumbs have to be very fine. They should not have any large lumps in them, or they will not hold their shape. And be sure to press the crust tightly into the bottom of the pan.
Why is my no-bake pie not setting?
It may be that it just needs to be chilled longer. It has to chill for at least four hours, but I typically leave mine in there overnight or at least for eight hours. Try putting it back in the fridge for a few more hours. If that does not work, try adding a bit of gelatin or cornstarch to the mixture. This can also happen if the cream cheese is too warm, if it is low-fat, or if it is the whipped variety. It has to be cold, full-fat, block cream cheese to make this dessert.
Can I make this pie ahead of time?
Yes, a no-bake Oreo pie is better when it is made ahead of time. After all, it has to chill for at least four hours. I prefer to let mine chill overnight so making it ahead of time is what I do every time. It allows the pie to set perfectly and lets the flavors meld together better. If you are planning to keep it for more than a few days, I would put it in a freezer-safe container and keep it frozen. Then, move it to the fridge a few hours before serving.
Can I crush Oreos in a blender?
Yes, Oreos can be crushed in a blender. First, chill or freeze the Oreos so the filling does not get all stuck to the blender blades. Just lay them all on a baking sheet and put them in the freezer for 30 minutes. Then, put the cookies into the blender while they are still frozen. Try just doing four or five at a time. Pulse the blender five or 10 times to get them the right size, depending on the blender.
What is another way to crush Oreos?
Similar to using the blender, you can also use a food processor in the same way. Don’t have a blender or food processor? Use a rolling pin. Once again, start with frozen Oreos and then put them into a plastic storage bag or Ziploc bag, about 12 at a time.
Then, put the bag on top of a towel on the counter and beat the cookies with the roller until they are crushed, and roll the pin over them to make sure they are all crushed. If you do not have a rolling pin, you can use a wine bottle or even a can of vegetables to crush them.
Are Oreos vegan?
The ingredients in an Oreo cookie are vegan, yes, but because they are made in a manufacturing plant where milk is used, many serious vegans do not consider them vegan. However, many vegans are not bothered by trace amounts of milk, so it is a personal choice. Incidentally, the fudge Oreos do have milk in them, so they are not vegan.
How to store leftovers:
- Store: Store the Oreo pie in the refrigerator for up to five days in an airtight container.Â
- Freeze:Â Alternatively, flash freeze uncovered and then wrap in plastic wrap and foil to keep in the freezer for up to three months.Â
- Thaw:Â Finally, plan in advance and thaw in the fridge overnight before serving.

Recipe tips:
- For this recipe, you will need at least 60 regular-sized Oreo cookies.
- Be sure to grind the cookies extra fine so the crust does not fall apart. Use a food processor or a high-speed blender.
- Also, do not remove the filling because it helps keep the crust together.
- To make sure the pie sets correctly, do not try to rush chill time.
- The cream cheese also has to be cold, full-fat, and block-style.
- If the pie is not set, try adding gelatin or cornstarch if extra chilling does not work.
