Christmas Recipes
Christmas recipes are always popular because they are usually fun and festive. It is hard not to smile when you watch your kids or grandkids decorating Christmas cookies or making a gingerbread house. And the whole house just seems more pleasant with the scents of vanilla, baked breads, and delicious turkey.
Even if you are not much of a baker, the holidays bring it out in all of us. You just want to continue the tradition of making a delicious meal or letting the kids help you make scrumptious desserts like cakes, cookies, and pies. Whether it is your first-holiday meal or your 101st, it is always nice to have help in the kitchen.
With our Christmas recipes, you can find all sorts of new ideas and old classics from pumpkin pie to cheesecake-stuffed red velvet cookies. We have about 200 dishes you can try such as eggnog cheesecake, the best honey ham, and reindeer nose treats as well as Christmas drunken cherries, perfectly creamy mashed potatoes, and 30-minute dinner rolls. Here are four of our favorites.
Cinnamon Cream Cheese Cookies
If you want something different to make for the holiday season, try our cinnamon cream cheese cookies. They are creamy, soft, and sweet with a tanginess of cinnamon like a snickerdoodle and a mixture of cream cheese and butter for a creaminess you cannot get in other cookies.
We add cream cheese with butter and powdered sugar along with ground cinnamon and vanilla to make these cookies an instant hit. The recipe is easy to do with very little prep time and they take less than 10 minutes to bake! You can have these delicious cinnamon sugar treats on the table in no time.
M&M Cookie Bars
Talk about easy! To make these M&M cookie bars, all you need is four ingredients! And everyone loves M&M candies so these will be a big hit with your family, friends, or co-workers at a holiday party. Using only the red and green candies lets you make these even more festive as well as yummy and the kids can make them because they are so easy.
What makes these so simple to make is that you use a vanilla cake mix instead of having to make your own cookie dough from scratch. It is certainly okay to cut corners to speed up yumminess. Just get a box of cake mix, a couple of eggs, some butter, and two cups of M&M candies. Mix it all together and put it in a pan. Then all you have to do is cool, cut, and serve them.
Pecan Pie Bars
If you love pecan pie, you are really going to enjoy this pecan pie bar recipe. It is not difficult to make and in the end, you will have a dessert that looks like it came from a fancy baker but tastes even better! For the crust, all you need is flour, butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, baking powder, and salt.
To make the topping, mix butter, syrup, brown sugar, and heavy cream with egg yolks, cornstarch, salt, vanilla, and roasted chopped pecans.
Christmas Punch
You need something festive and refreshing to drink with all of these scrumptious desserts. Try our Christmas Punch recipe made with four different kinds of fruit juices, fresh fruits, and a few other ingredients. This is an adult beverage made with rum but you can always leave that out if you are serving the kids.
The fruit juices include pomegranate, cranberry, pineapple, and lime. Then you just mix that with sparkling water and one cup of rum. Mix it all together and toss in some fresh cranberries and sliced limes. You can also garnish with more mint sprigs, cinnamon sticks, and maybe even some orange wedges.
