Slow Cooker Cabbage and Ham
Slow Cooker Cabbage and Ham is slow-simmered in stock and aromatics for an easy, healthy meal that’s full of flavor.
Servings 4 servings
- 1 1/2 cup diced ham
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 large onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 head of a large green cabbage chopped
- 1 1/2 cups broth chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, add the oil, and once hot add the ham and saute it until golden-brown and crispy.
Remove from the pan and transfer it to the slow cooker.
Add onion and garlic to the same pan, and saute for 3-4 minutes, until onion is translucent. Transfer to the slow cooker.
Add chopped cabbage and broth to the slow cooker. Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine.
Cook on "HIGH" for two hours or until cabbage is perfectly tender. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
Serve garnished with parsley.
