  • 1 1/2 cup diced ham
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 head of a large green cabbage chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups broth chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, add the oil, and once hot add the ham and saute it until golden-brown and crispy.
  • Remove from the pan and transfer it to the slow cooker.
  • Add onion and garlic to the same pan, and saute for 3-4 minutes, until onion is translucent. Transfer to the slow cooker.
  • Add chopped cabbage and broth to the slow cooker. Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine.
  • Cook on "HIGH" for two hours or until cabbage is perfectly tender. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Serve garnished with parsley.
