Apple Bread:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups diced green apples
  • 1/2 cup pecans chopped

Crumb Topping:

  • 6 tablespoons butter cold
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons white granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Vanilla Glaze (optional):

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract


Apple Bread:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line a loaf pan with parchment paper so it overhangs on the size for easy bread removal. Also, you can spray the pan with baking spray.
  • Using a hand mixer, cream butter and both sugars in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add in eggs, milk, and vanilla and whisk to combine.
  • Mix in flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Fold in apples and pecans.
  • Transfer mixture into the prepared baking pan.

Crumb Topping:

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix with a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over the bread batter.


  • Bake for 55-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread, comes out clean.
  • Let fully cool on a wire rack, after that remove from pan.

Vanilla Glaze (optional):

  • Whisk all the glaze ingredients in a bowl until smooth and drizzle the top of the bread. Slice and serve.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
