Slow Cooker Brown Sugar Garlic Pork
Brown Sugar Garlic Pork is a fancy main course dish that is caramelized on the outside and tender on the inside. It is a restaurant-quality meal easily made at home, and perfect for any occasion.

- 4 lb pork shoulder or butt cut into medium chunks
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup apple juice
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
Add pork chunks to a large bowl, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and toss.
Place a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, add some oil and once its hot, brown the pork on each side until golden brown. Set aside.
Add all sauce ingredients to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir to combine and cook until butter and sugar have melted. Set aside.
Transfer pork pieces to the slow cooker and pour the sauce on top.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 4-5 hours or on LOW for 8-9 hours.
Serve the pork with rice or mashed potatoes and drizzle with the slow cooker sauce.
Garnish with chopped parsley and rosemary before serving.
