1 3/4 cups sour cream or plain yogurt 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil 1 1/2 cup sugar 3 large eggs room temperature 1 tablespoon orange zest 2 tablespoons orange juice 1 teaspoon orange extract 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Butter a 9-inch springform pan by buttering the sides and bottom. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, sea salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
In a large bowl whisk sugar with sour cream, eggs, olive oil, orange juice, orange zest, and orange extract until fully combined and creamy
Add half of the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until fully combined. Add the rest and mix until no lumps and the batter is smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan.
Place on the middle rack in the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
If the cake starts to brown too quickly, cover it with foil.
Remove from oven and cool for 15 minutes in the pan, before removing it and cooling it completely before serving.
Serve with powdered sugar on top or whipped cream and fresh berries.
