How to Make Pesto
Pesto is the favorite olive oil-based sauce made with basil. Make that gourmet pasta you like with this recipe and enjoy restaurant-quality food at home!

fresh basil leaves
stems removed

pine nuts
toasted for extra flavor if desired

extra-virgin olive oil

freshly grated parmesan cheese
Add the basil leaves, garlic cloves, and pine nuts to a food processor and blend until the ingredients are finely minced.
With the food processor on low speed, gradually add the olive oil and blend until smooth.
Add the grated parmesan cheese, and blend by pulsating a few times, until just combined.
Scoop the pesto into a serving bowl and use on pasta, salad or as a dip.
