  • 2 lb. broccoli cut into florets
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for drizzling


  1. Add water to a large saucepan over medium heat. Place a steam basket into the saucepan.
  2. Add broccoli onto the steamer basket.
  3. Bring water to a boil, after which reduce heat to simmer.
  4. Cover with a lid and cook 5-7 minutes or until broccoli is tender when pierced with a fork, but not mushy.
  5. Serve broccoli sprinkled salt, pepper, red pepper flakes and drizzled with olive oil.
