To make this dish, you will need: -Green cabbage For the meatballs: -Ground beef -Cooked rice -Diced onion -Coriander -Smoked paprika -Sea salt -Ground black pepper

For the sauce: -Tomato paste -Minced garlic -Basil -Coriander -Kosher salt -Black pepper -Water or chicken broth For the side salad: -Cabbage -Chopped tomatoes -Minced garlic -Chopped cilantro -Vegetable oil -Kosher salt -Black pepper

STEP 1

First, cut off the core and flip over the cabbage. Hollow out the inside to leave a bowl with sides about one inch thick. 

STEP 2

Next, mix the rice and meat in a large bowl before adding the rest of the ingredients. Stir well to combine it all. 

STEP 3

Using 1 to 2 tablespoons of meat mixture, roll the meatballs. Arrange them inside the hollowed out cabbage bowl. 

STEP 4

Then, mix the sauce ingredients in a large bowl and stir well until thoroughly combined. Pour half the sauce into the cabbage on top of the meatballs. 

STEP 5

Put the lid on and cover before cooking for 70 to 90 minutes. While it bakes, chop up the cabbage and mix it with the rest of the salad ingredients. Chill until ready to serve. 

STEP 6

Finally, let the cabbage and meatballs rest for 10 minutes before serving. Slice an opening in the side of the cabbage so the meatballs are easy to remove.
