Here's What You Need

To make Invisible Apple Cake, you need: -Peeled and sliced apples -Slivered almonds -All-purpose flour -Unsalted melted butter -Large eggs -Whole milk -White granulated sugar -Vanilla extract -Maple extract -Ground nutmeg -Ground cinnamon -Kosher salt -Baking powder

STEP 1

First, preheat oven to 350 degrees F and prep a loaf pan with baking spray and parchment paper. Then, whisk the vanilla, salt, maple, baking powder, butter, eggs, milk, and sugar.

Next, stir in the nutmeg, cinnamon, and flour just until it is smooth and combined. After, fold the apples in gently with a rubber spatula until they are all coated. 

Step 3

Now, start on one end of the loaf pan and place apple slices in the bottom like shingles. Press down to flatten. Rotate the pan 180 degrees before adding another layer going the other way. Continue until the pan is full.

Step 4

Pour the rest of the batter on top and spread evenly. Sprinkle the almonds around the edges and bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the apples are golden. Then cover and bake another 20 minutes. Cool for 30 minutes before removing to slice and serve.
