Here's What You Need

-Belgian dark chocolate -Unsalted butter -Sea salt -Baking soda -Baking powder -All-purpose flour -Vanilla extract -Large eggs For the chocolate frosting: -Belgian semisweet chocolate -Vanilla extract -Light corn syrup -Unsalted butter -Hot water For the garnish: -Toasted peanuts -Cake crumbs

STEP 1

To make chocolate pudding, heat milk, salt, cornstarch, and both sugars in a pot over medium heat until it is thick and bubbly, stirring constantly. Then, lower the heat and let it cook for two minutes. Stir in chocolate until melted. Then pour it into a bowl and add vanilla. Cover and chill for two hours. 

STEP 2

To make the cake, mix dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Then, melt the butter in a large saucepan before adding the cocoa powder. Let it cook for several minutes before you add the chocolate and both sugars. Stir over low heat until melted. 

Step 3

Remove it from the stove and stir in the vanilla, coffee, and buttermilk. Add eggs one at a time, whisking each time. Then, add the flour a little at a time, mixing until it is smooth. Last, pour in prepared pans and bake for 35 minutes.

STEP 4

Next, make the chocolate frosting by melting the butter and chocolate in a double boiler or microwave for 30 to 40 seconds. Whisk in the vanilla, corn syrup, and hot water. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until it is ready to spread. After, cut the top of each cake to make them flat. Put the tops into a bowl and mix until crumbly. 

Step 5

Then, spread pudding on each layer and place them on top of each other on a cake plate as you go. Cover the sides and top with frosting and add some roses to the top. Lastly, sprinkle nuts and cake crumbs on the sides of the cake, pressing lightly to make them stick. Chill for eight hours before serving.
