This crispy salty fried cod is seasoned with Old Bay and fried in beer batter that is just perfect for this recipe. Grab a beer and start prepping.  

Here's What You Need

For this recipe, you need: -Canola oil for frying -Your favorite beer -Large egg -Cod cut into 5-inch pieces -All-purpose flour -Garlic powder -Onion powder -Old Bay seasoning -Smoked paprika -Mustard powder -Cayenne pepper -White pepper -Kosher salt

STEP 1

First, pat the fish dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. Mix the flour, cayenne pepper, Old Bay, paprika, mustard, onion powder and garlic powder.

STEP 2

After, add in the egg and mix well. Then, add the beer, a little at a time, whisking slowly after each addition until thoroughly combined. 

STEP 3

Heat the oil in a frying pan until it reaches 365 degrees F. Next, dip the fish into the batter and put them in the oil. Do NOT overcrowd the pan. 

STEP 4

As they cook, place the fish on a wire rack. Do not put them on paper towels and keep them apart so the steam can dissipate. Serve with tartar sauce and enjoy!
