Here's What You Need

For this recipe you need: -Oranges -Almond flour -Granulated sugar -Eggs -Almond extract -Unsalted butter melted and cooled to room temperature -Potato starch -Baking powder For the topping: -Sliced almonds -Powdered sugar

STEP 1

First, preheat the oven to 350 F and grease a cake pan. Then, separate the egg whites from the yolks and beat the whites until stiff. 

STEP 2

Next, in another large bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar for about 5 minutes or until frothy and light. 

STEP 3

Now, grate the orange for zest and squeeze and filter the juice. Then, mix the zest, juice, butter, and almond extract with the egg yolks.  

STEP 4

After, stir in the baking powder, potato starch, and almond flour with a rubber spatula. Then, fold in the egg whites gently. 

STEP 5 

Pour the batter into the cake pan, bake for 45 minutes, and let it cool completely in the pan. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and almond slices before stirring.
