STEP 1

After preheating oven and prepping the pan, lay a towel with powdered sugar on the counter. Then, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl.

STEP 2

Next, beat the eggs and sugar until thick and creamy. Then, beat in the pumpkin puree until mixed. Gently stir in the flour mixture until just combined.  

STEP 3

Now, spread batter evenly onto the prepared pan, Then, sprinkle with finely chopped nuts if using. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes or until it springs back when touched. 

STEP 4

After, remove cake from the oven and loosen before turning it onto the prepared towel. Peel off wax paper and roll with the towel. Cool on a wire rack. 

STEP 5

Then, beat cream cheese with powdered sugar, vanilla, and butter until smooth. Carefully unroll cake and spread the cream cheese mixture on top. 

STEP 6

Finally, reroll the cake and wrap it in plastic wrap. Chill for 1 to 2 hours before serving with powdered sugar dusted on top.
