ST. JUDE SPRING GALA
I was very honored to attend St. Jude Spring Gala 2017 this past weekend in New York, New York. It was a beautiful event for an amazing cause. St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Also, what I respect about this great institution is that families never receive a bill from for treatment, travel, housing or food! The event was fully sponsored by donors.
Companies have donated delicious food, like vegan tacos, pulled pork and burgers sliders were served. In addition, cupcakes, cookies, and a candy bar were present! A photo booth with props was available and we had so much fun taking photos and making memories. The drinks, the venue and the raffle gifts were all donated by St. Jude supporters. It is beautiful to see how people come together to support a good cause.
Treatments invented at St. Jude has helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to more than 80 percent today. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent, and we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $2.4 million, which is primarily covered by individual contributors.
That’s why is so important to support St. Jude, you can donate on their website, also you have the opportunity to attend different events, like this gala. The Spring Gala was lots of fun, with delicious food, an amazing DJ, a prime location and raffles. St. Jude creates more clinical trials for cancer than any other children’s hospital and turns laboratory discoveries into lifesaving treatments that benefit patients – every day. At St. Jude, their message is clear: Finding cures. Saving children.®
