Happy Friday my friends! How are you today? I have some buttery, sweet and delicious Little Charmers Magical Friendship Cookies for you this Friday and a very cute friendship story. I moved to US almost a decade ago, and since I was already in my twenties and never attended college here, it was harder to make friends. I was lucky to meet so many kind people that now I truly feel at peace and at home here. Now, that I have my baby boy, I want him to experience the magic of friendship from an early age, because nothing in life is more valuable, than a true friend that will be there for you no matter what.

Little Charmers Magical Friendship Cookies I was extremely lucky to meet my best friends Rodica almost two years ago, and it just happens that she has two adorable kids close in age with Sebastian. So meet the pack (from left to right): Sebastian, Ana and Luca. They love to spend time together and its amazing to see how they are forming a friendship. I was very excited to partner with Little Charmers and create a Little Charmers playdate for them, as they all love the show.

Little Charmers Magical Friendship Cookies I am very selective about the shows that my son watches, and I love the message that Little Charmers is sending to kids. The show teaches young children that anything is possible when you work together and have true friends like the Little Charmers! And you can totally see this with our kids! Luca is the big guy, the head of the pack, and its adorable to see how he cares for Ana and Sebastian, he guides them and makes sure that they are ok.

Little Charmers Magical Friendship CookiesThe kids watch the Little Charmers show and were very excited when they opened the package and saw toys from the Little Charmers series. Luca screamed “I saw this girl on TV, she is real”, Ana hugged Hazel and didn’t want to let go, and Sebastian was obsessed with the Magical Wand and Little Charmers plush helper. The toys would be such a nice and meaningful gift to children for the upcoming Holiday season! They make a nice birthday gift as well!

There is no party without cookies, I baked these Little Charmers Magical Friendship Cookies in three colors as an ode to the three Little Charmers, and our three kids who at a such young age know how magical friendship can be! The cookies were a success as you can see!

Recipe type: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Serves: 18
  • 2 sticks / 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 1½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 3½ cups all purpose flour
  • 4 oz white chocolate
  • 5 pink gel food coloring drops
  • 5 blue gel food coloring drops
  • 3 purple gel food coloring drops
  1. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the wire attachment beat butter on medium speed until fluffy, about 30-40 seconds.
  2. Scrape the bowl, and whisk in sugar, salt, baking powder and vanilla bean seeds. Scrape the bowl as needed and beat until combined. Beat in the egg and when combined, replace the wire attachment with the paddle attachment and beat in flour. If the dough is too soft, add ½ cup of flour. The dough must have the texture of play dough.
  3. Divide the dough in half, and using a spatula, knead in the pink and blue food coloring.
  4. Roll dough into two balls, cover in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes so its easier to work with.
  5. Cover your working area with one layer of plastic wrap, 15 - 16 inches long. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and unwrap.
  6. Place the pink dough ball onto the plastic wrap on the counter, flatten it and using a rolling pin shape it into a rectangular, about 11X9. Repeat with the blue dough ball, but make the rectangular one inch smaller.
  7. Transfer the blue rectangle onto the pink rectangle. Its ok if the dough tears down in some spots, use your fingers to shape it. The dough must be soft and easy to work with.
  8. The blue rectangle is on top of the pink rectangle that sits on plastic wrap. Using the plastic wrap lift the edge that is closer to you and start rolling the dough into a cookie roll. The dough now resembles a cookie roll covered in plastic wrap. Secure the ends and place in the fridge for at least 6 hours.
  9. The dough can be made in advance and left in the fridge overnight, or even for 2 days. When you are ready to bake the cookies, preheat oven to 350F. Remove the cookie roll from the refrigerator and slice in ½ or ¼ inch rounds.
  10. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper and arrange the cookies 1½ inches from each other.
  11. Bake for 10 minutes. Mid baking switch the sheet trays in the oven: the upper one goes to the bottom, and the bottom one is moved up.
  12. The cookies are done when the edges are firm and the bottoms brown.
  13. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the cookie sheets for 2 minutes, after that transfer to a cooling rack.
  14. Let cookies cool completely before drizzling with white chocolate.
  15. Bring a medium saucepan half filled with water to a boil. Place white chocolate in a medium bowl set over the saucepan of simmering water, let it melt, stirring just a few times. Make sure the bowl doesn't touch the boiling water, to avoid overheating. Remove bowl from heat, mix in the purple food coloring until combined and using a fork drizzle the purple white chocolate over the cookies.
  16. Let stand for 15-20 minutes before serving for the chocolate to settle, or better place cookies in the fridge for the chocolate to harden quicker.
  17. Enjoy!
The preparation time does not include the 6 hours of chilling of the dough in the refrigerator.
